Designing a museum exhibit was our big third-year capstone project in Knowledge Integration. As the activity design lead for this project, I was responsible for making sure interactivity and engagement were at the center of our exhibit design. Among other things, I took on the role of formatting our storyboard and final exhibit.

Donating blood saves lives—this is something you probably already know, but do you act upon it? Whether you’re a veteran blood donor, someone who has never donated, or someone who never will, our exhibit aims to show that everyone has a place in the blood donation community. Being able to donate blood is great, and not being able to or not wanting to donate blood should not make you feel guilty. Come visit Vein to Vein to hear other’s voices and to become better equipped to discuss and think about blood donation.
UN Sustainable Development Goal #3, Good Health and Well-Being, aims to provide “access to quality essential health-care services for all”. Blood donation is one such example of an essential aspect of health care, but donation rates are declining and our blood supply is limited. How can we address this issue, especially when not everyone is able to donate blood? Vein to Vein aims to shed light on the various ways in which we can support the blood donation community.
Vein to Vein seeks to familiarize you with the blood donation process domestically, and introduce you to the different approaches taken around the world. As you move through the exhibit, we encourage you to think about where you fit into the bigger picture of blood donation. Leaving the exhibit, we hope that you will feel equipped with an understanding of how blood donation works, why it is necessary, and the unique way that each individual can contribute to the advancement of the blood donation community.
Since this exhibit is about blood donation, you will encounter visuals, simulated liquids, and discussion about blood and blood products. However, this exhibit contains no actual blood, and we have made sure to refrain from the use of graphic images and language.
